Barack Obama

I think Barack Obama has the potential and support to become president of the U.S. I think this because the pools have gone rapidly up for Obama and I know a bunch of his supporters. I think his actions will be good for the country, considering its state at the moment. He could drive us out of the economy crisis, healthcare and war issues, which are all good and need to get resolves A.S.A.P.- along with a list of other topics.

Obama on Healthcare
Obama’ plan is very different than McCain’s. It is also very simple. If a citizen has no healthcare, Obama will make sure companies will not back out on this individual. He is going to make the healthcare plans affordable, not too complicated, and great for everyone’s use. He will lower the cost and give a tax cut to 95% of Americans. This means all the people who can’t get healthcare will be able to. So even though there may be someone in a family who isn’t in good health and needs some extra care, it won’t be a problem as it would be for McCain’s plan.

Obama on abortion
Barack Obama’s opinion on abortion is this: It is their decision. It is not an easy, casual decision. It is a thought through, complicated and painful decision that is completely up to them. He trusts the women to do the right decision, but he has said that he prefers to help reduce teen pregnancy and thing like that instead of dwelling on the past. Also to reduce the abortion use for young women is another goal he has set to do. He wants all to move forward and fix the broader issues related to pregnancy.

For many other reasons of how Barack Obama thinks, it’s the best for now. His tax policy, climate change (oil issues), war policy, education plan and the environment are the kind of thinking progression we need. Him being black is even more special. This shows courage, and a chance for Americans to move past of the fear that blacks are bad, and this segregation that (surprisingly) we have still going on form the 60s. He demonstrates supportive skills, and seems ready to take over this disastrous country. I in vision him in the near future becoming our leader, and I am so happy for a positive change.

John McCain

I think John McCain should not become president of the United States. I say this because he lies to his audience when the majority knows the truth. He does not care much about the lower- middle class, not to mention the lower class- the poor. He is mainly focusing on the wealthy people, and he is saying they should not give the government extra money that they have to give for the yearly taxes. I think spreading the wealth around is a great idea; people who don’t get enough, get money and the government has more money to put into schools, education and other important stuff. However, it is never to know whether they will actually use their money on these important things, or very lame stuff. I really didn’t like how he laughed at practically everything Barack Obama, his opponent, said at the final Presidential Debate on Wednesday, October 15. He acts like he knows everything, and will not listen to other people’s opinions or discussions about the economy, etc. I just do not see him in the white house- I don’t even imagine him as our next president one bit, but I do for my friend Barack Obama.

McCain on Healthcare
McCain’s stance on Healthcare is not what I would do. He is offering about $5,000 each year to every American individual who cannot pay for his or her own healthcare. However, if the healthcare plan is more than $5,000 (which usually is), then this yearly income is practically no help than before. People want an affordable plan, and McCain is saying that $5,000 is enough and is a good deal, but it does not seem like he is trying to raise it, or decrease it if the people are struggling. He is set on that number, and nothing will change his mind. Instead of lowering the healthcare insurances, he is letting the people struggle, which Obama takes more personally, more to heart of the people. For example, if an average family pays around $5,000, assuming that they are all young and in good health. For all the older folks, the disabled, impaired and pre-existing conditions, their life is a whole lot harder to get healthcare because of all the additional charges if something happens to the patient. Something happening means more money for the person, as well as the company, which is bad if the patient does not have it.

Abortion
McCain’s stance on abortion is simple and horrible: like most Republicans, he disagrees with abortion. He does not think women should have an abortion because he believes life starts right after the egg has been fertilized, and there is no need to undo that. He specifically said: I will do anything to make a woman adopt, not abort. Having an abortion means killing life, but think of it from the women’s perspective. If she wants to do this, it is her decision. Plus, when she DOES get pregnant again (if she does) she will be a better mother because she will be older, more mature and ready. Surprisingly, 73% of female McCain supporters who are pro-choice for abortion think he also pro-choice. He is not; he is anti-choice, or, pro-choice for life.

For many other reasons of the way John McCain has ideas and the way he thinks is the best, I just don’t want him in our power. His tax policy, climate change, war policy and education plan are not suitable for us. Some people say they are voting for McCain because he ahs more experience in the war and has been around for a while, along with his family name. This is NOT a reason to elect this man. It does not mean anything, and people need to stop using excuses like ‘he’s pretty’, ‘he’s nice’, ‘he’s older than Obama’- and start going for the real issues that are affecting everyone. He does not demonstrate the skills that America needs.
